Opportunities for students on summer vacation abound!

Students wondering what to do on their summer vacation should be sure to check out the many opportunities and tools available at SchoolJournalism.org.

Opportunities abound for students interested in journalism and digital communication! Students can jump start their career or just have fun with SchoolJournalism.org’s journalism training, lessons and tech tools resources! Students can take interactive quizzes, learn about new apps and more!

Here are other options for students on summer vacation:

All students are invited to join the SchoolJournalism.org Student Advisory Board — applications are accepted on a rolling basis!  Advisory board members exchange ideas about what is important to them and their peers. Students from around the country interact with each other in a private Facebook group and get feedback with tough problems and ideas to take their student media programs to the next level!

Students can learn more about journalism careers with innovative media organizations and how the digital industry constantly evolves. There’s great news for recent graduates as more journalism-related jobs are being created than ever before.

It’s never too early to get started on college planning!  As students scramble to finish homework, study for tests and keep up with their social life, it might seem like graduation day is a distant goal — but, it will be here before long. Figuring out what to do after high school isn’t easy, so students should begin considering their options as early as their freshman year. These resources will help every student do just that!

To help students find the college or university journalism program that’s right for them, SchoolJournalism.org compiled a list of all Accredited University Journalism Programs that are accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications.

Part of planning for college is applying for scholarships. SchoolJournalism.org put together a list of national and state scholarship opportunities to help students get started finding funds for their future!
