Blog Evaluation Sheet
TEACHER’S CHOICE: A blog that exemplifies the characteristics that the teacher desires the students to work to. Something journalistic or photographic preferably.
Steps to check for student understanding
Teacher will do frequent comprehension checks in the form of Classroom Assessment Techniques (thumbs up, thumbs down; exit slip in the form of post-it note summary).
This module will include a heavy amount of independent work and research. The teacher will act as a facilitator but will also benefit from research and contribution to the assets list that will be created throughout this unit for future use.
FLOW OF LESSON
Suggested bell ringer: You can blog for any organization or celebrity in the world, who do you blog for and why?
Teacher will present the PowerPoint.
Teacher will show the class the chosen blog and point out the merits that the teacher sees and why they are desirable.
Teacher will pass out the Blog Evaluation sheet and allow the students to look over the criteria and ask questions about the blog that was chosen as they will be finding two blogs and completing an evaluation on each as an individual learning activity.
WRAPPING IT UP
Exit slip: One famous person from history will begin blogging if you ask them to do so… who do you ask and why?
